An American Captain (Cary Grant) is in charge of a submarine on a secret mission. He doesn’t know its destination until he opens a letter in route. He is to pick up a meteorologist and go to the coast of Japan to gather information for a military raid on Tokyo. Along the way they fight to elude Japanese ships and eventually face off against a Japanese aircraft carrier.
