Registration begins at 8:30 am
We are called upon by Core Competency requirements and ethical codes to provide Assessment which both includes and honors the client’s religious and spiritual values. We must also do that with objectivity and professionalism. But how do we walk softly onto that sacred ground in a way that allows the client to inform us of his/her spiritual problems, spiritual woundedness or a current spiritual crisis? This workshop is going to facilitate professional awareness of effective assessment as a form of intervention.
OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Participants will gain practical assessment tools to appropriately assess for religious/spiritual problems.
Participants will learn appropriate assessment interventions for the outcomes of spiritual abuse, such as deep shame, guilt, fear and paranoia.
Participants will learn practical treatment objectives and goals for treatment planning around religious/spiritual problems.
Participants will learn how to maintain the assessment process throughout the therapeutic endeavor.
