Join us as Dr. David Gauntt, lifelong amateur astronomer, gives a talk on how to use the new library telescopes.
Join us as Dr. David Gauntt, lifelong amateur astronomer, gives a talk on how to use the new library telescopes, what to look for when shopping for your own telescope, and how to find online resources to learn what to look at in the sky.
Weather permitting, we will then head outside for a "star party", where we will use what we have learned to get a good look at
The moon
Jupiter
Venus
Saturn
Albireo (a blue/green double star)
Epsilon Lyra (a double-double star)
Bring your own telescope, use one of the library telescopes, or peer into Dr. Gauntt's 10" newtonian reflector!
