It’s Christmas and an NY DA (Fred MacMurray) lets a pretty shoplifter (Barbara Stanwyck) off on bail and offers her a ride home to Indiana.
They end up falling in love, but Fred’s mother fears Stanwyck will damage her son’s reputation and convinces Stanwyck to leave the man she loves.
