Roku Streaming Media Players - Available Now!

Stream popular movies over WiFi! A wireless Internet connection and a HDMI input on the TV are needed to use the Roku Streaming Media Device. The library’s Roku kit provides the rest. Just plug in the Roku to the TV, connect it to Wi-Fi, select the Vudu channel - my Vudu, and start watching.

Setup Instructions:

  • Plug in the AC adapter power cable into the Roku box and wall socket. Roku does not have an on/off switch on the Roku box; it stays on.
  • Plug the HDMI cable into the Roku box and the TV.
  • Select the appropriate video source or input for the television, if necessary.
  • Use the Roku remote to connect to your home WiFi for internet connection.
  • Go to the Settings menu, and select Network.
Follow prompts to connect to your home WiFi, and enter a password if your home WiFi requires it.
  • Use the Roku remote to select the Vudu channel - my Vudu (movies or TV) and enjoy.

Lending Policy

  • ROKUs check out for one week. There is a $1.00 per day fine for overdue ROKU. They may be renewed twice (as long as there are no holds on the item).
  • ROKUs may only be checked out from and returned to the Circulation Desk at Homewood Public Library. There is a $25 fine if they are returned to either the inside or outside book drop or to another library.
  • There is a limit of one device per patron, but there is no age limit and patrons do not have to live in Homewood. There are no forms to sign to check out a ROKU.
  • The full list of movies per device is in a binder at Circulation. We are starting with eight but have four more for room to grow!
